👋 Hi, I’m Tushanga Herath, but most people simply call me Tush. Born and raised in the heart of Sri Lanka, I’ve carried a love for travel with me since childhood. Over the years, I’ve explored every corner of this island paradise—from the misty mountains of Ella, to the golden beaches of Mirissa, and the untamed wilderness of Yala. 🌿🏝️🐘

What is a Safari Tour ?

A safari tour is an exciting guided journey into protected wilderness areas where travelers observe wildlife in their natural habitat. 🌿🚙

Led by experienced guides or rangers, safari adventures usually take place in specially designed 4×4 offrad vehicles that safely navigate grasslands, forests, and wetlands while offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.

🐘🦚The main goal of a safari is to experience nature closely—spotting animals such as elephants, leopards, lions, rhinos, and buffalo while learning about their behavior, conservation, and ecosystems.

Popular safari destinations include Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, which is known for its remarkable biodiversity. 🐘🦚🐘🦚 Despite its small size, Sri Lanka is home to 91 species of mammals, including the majestic Sri Lankan elephant and the elusive leopard, making wildlife safaris a must-do experience for travelers.

The island offers several famous national parks, each with unique attractions: Yala National Park is renowned for its high leopard density and diverse wildlife, Udawalawe National Park is famous for reliable elephant sightings and family-friendly safaris, while Wilpattu National Park offers a quieter, more authentic safari experience with chances to see leopards and sloth bears among its beautiful natural lakes.
